Typical Activities

FUN ACTIVITIES TO ENCOURAGE LEARNING AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT

Our curriculum is designed for children to have fun while also expanding their learning horizons through fun games, hands-on experiences, art lessons, reading, music and more. Together, our teachers and students will take part in circle time. During circle time, we will talk about our day and complete lessons that coincide with their learning milestones.

TYPICAL DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES

Group Play: Singing, dancing, play acting, games, reading, listening to tapes (story and music) technology, and circle time.

Free Play: Children have a choice of blocks, kitchen toys, dolls and accessories, Duplo’s/Legos, play sets, Household toys, pull/push toys, art materials, technology, and may watch limited television or video tapes.

Language: Nursery rhymes, finger plays, stimulus pictures or objects to encourage verbalization, reading to the children, flannel boards.

Dramatic Play: Dress up, role playing, puppetry, etc.

Outdoor Play: (weather permitting) Riding toys, running, ball playing, gardening toys, trucks, strolling dolls, (please remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather, if in doubt, dress
in layers or bring extra clothes).

Water Play: Hose and ball sprinkler, allows children to cool off during those hot days of summer.

Field Trips: Staff will provide transportation and supervision for all children field trips. Examples of trips taken include: museums, fire department, children's movies, bowling, library, etc. Parents are always welcome to volunteer to assist on field trips at their own expense and mode of travel.

Special Days: Include birthdays/holiday parties, getting ready for holidays, and holiday.
